Our little blondie was behind bars.
But July 6th was the day she was going to be “sprung.” 🙂 We were so excited to know that Claire was ready to leave the hospital!! To be sure I did have some mixed feelings about it. Not that I wanted her to stay at all, but I was surprised at how much harder it made leaving Gabby there! Not like they got to interact in any way when I wasn’t there, but somehow deep down there was a comfort to knowing that they were “together.”
I know Gabby will be taken care of when I’m not there. And Claire will be coming to visit her every day with me! And it’ll all be okay in the end because Claire and I are going to make plans to ‘spring’ Gabby as well one of these days. 😉 Then we will all go home together!!
But it was still a happy day because at least one of our twosome got to “go home.” She looks pretty excited about it doesn’t she? 😉 She was a little irritated with me when I woke her up to take off her hospital shirt, and the monitor leads, (finally!!!) and dress her up in the cute preemie outfit that another special set of twins picked for our girls! 🙂 It’s adorable, even if she is fussing!
She squalled at us for putting her in the seat as well, but once we started walking out she got quiet. I think she enjoyed her first car ride ever! 🙂
She was konked out by the time we made it to Oma’s house. 🙂 She looks so itty bitty in her infant seat! It’s hard to believe that she’ll be grown out of that in a year!
She had a little visit with Oma after we arrived.
At bed time Claire got to use one of the Aden & Anais swaddling blankets that we were gifted! They are awesome swaddlers!! Light fabric, stretchy and BIG! She seemed to love it because she went right to sleep!
Her little Tummy Clock has been set by the hospital and she woke up ready to feast every 3 hours on the dot! 🙂 So mommy is a little tired today, but it’s a happy tired! We’ll be heading off to see our Gabby-girl pretty soon! Keep praying she will get out soon!
