Today was my first experiment in freezer jam making. I am now waiting the allotted 30 minutes to see if it “set up.” If not… well then it won’t be jam, it’ll be ‘sauce’ ha ha! 😉 Pictorial post about it all to follow.
I will get the studio ready for Qade’s session today. I WILL!! 😉 Even though it will likely mean that I’ll spend all of nap-time blowing up balloons, it will get done. Now that I’ve told you all, I supposed I’d better do it. 😉
I watched the video of the Tucson guy being rude to a chick-fil-a worker, and I have to say, I’m glad the guy got fired. What a bully! Regardless of what he thought about the whole thing that was going on with that corporation, he had no business taking it out on a gal working the take out window. Good thing he felt “purposeful” and pretty smart of him to catch it all on video. 😉
For dinner tonight I’m making “Roasted Tomato Soup” with the tomatoes that my grandma gave me from her vines. I’m still waiting for our one tomato to ripen up. The plant has a couple more blossom sprouts, but I begin to wonder if it will have time to make more tomatoes before it gets to cold since it’s taking it’s dear, sweet time about it. 😉 Anyway, I came across a recipe for soup from fresh tomatoes, and since I haven’t got a clue what else to do with them beyond salad, I’m going to give it a try.
I made a pound cake to go with our strawberries and whipped cream the other night. I’ll post the recipe soon! It was very good with the berries, and I liked this particular recipe because it was about 1/2 the size of a regular pound cake, so it baked in a loaf pan rather than a tube pan. And I like that because we can never make it through an entire pound cake! 🙂 This one was the perfect size!
Qade and I went school supplies shopping together yesterday. It was nice to have some unhurried one-on-one time with him. He enjoyed picking out pencil sharpeners and folders and crayons. Then we went to Wendy’s and had lunch together! It was a fun time. I want to do that more often with each of the munchkins. It’s making that happen that is the hard part!
Well, my afternoon is packed with stuff that I need to do right away, like fold the 3 loads of laundry that has been piling up in the laundry room. 😉
