Never would have believed

That one day I’d walk into my boys room to find my youngest actually LICKING lotion off the carpet where his big brother obligingly spread it.

That my potty trainee toddler would come waddling into the living room with a turd IN HIS HAND saying, “I found the poop!” Oh my, I certainly hope there are no more to find.

That I would find the “missing poop” from the last statement while trying to help clean up the lotion from the first statement.

That I would ever hear a huge splashing noise like the sound of a cup being spilled followed by the loud words, “Uh-oh, I peep!”

Or that I would be oh-so-thankful that it happened in the kitchen rather than anywhere with carpet. I just don’t think I could handle that after the above poop incident.

That I would find myself telling my son, “Go in the kitchen and clean up your pee-pee.”

That I would find both boys STANDING on top of the changing table in their room knocking their heads against the wall to create a huge commotion.

The bedroom door is now “off limits” to be closed.

Just thought I’d share. :-)

Rachel – you have me laughing SO HARD! Or should I say you boys have me laughing. It really is never boring in your house, is it! It isn’t in mine, either, but I have never had that particular poop incided, for which I am thankful! I hope Qade decides to go “#2″ on the potty soon for you. I would give you advice, but we didn’t seem to have a problem with that so I don’t know what to tell ya! Does he have a “schedule” – like he seems to go the same time every day? Liam did, so that was what helped with our situation, I think. I knew it was about time for him to go, so I would just sit him there and read to him until he went!

Nope not boring here for sure. As if I hadn’t had enough grossness for one day the cat got into the bathroom AGAIN and peed in the tub. Grrrrr!!! Wish I would have thought to just turn the shower on him. ;-) Qade kind of has a schedule, but he will “hold it” when it comes down to it. There have been several times I’ve made him sit on the pot and try, only to have him go as soon as I get a pull-up on him for nap. I just don’t like the whole sit in the bathroom for 45 minutes waiting for it to happen, ya know? I need to figure out how to motivate him to want to go. He’s doing great (minus the kitchen floor incident tonight) with the peeing in the potty. He’ll even stay dry when we’re playing outside. Slowly but surely we’ll get there.

Oh my. I can’t stop laughing. I just read this to Jason and we’re both sympathizing… but laughing. We’re about to go round 2 over here with potty training. Your boys are fun little adventurers and a little wacky, just like kids should be :D

Sounds like you’ve had quite a day! I’m wishing you lots of chocolate and a good night’s sleep. James said, “Thats it. I’m only having girls!”

Oh my gosh, Rachel, this is too funny! The joys of motherhood, huh? And, Joy, there’s no promising girls are any easier…just ask my mom! One day she could not find Shannon anywhere…until she found her sitting IN the toilet! Yes, there are pictures! Just be thankful it was (probably) a little poo (?) Rachel, you don’t even know what we nurses have to clean up….

oh yes….how I can identify!! The reality is sometimes so exhausting, but one day we’ll only have the memories and I think we’ll actually be GLAD these things happened! Imagine that…

Wow, that was pretty funny. Probably not at the time, but now yes :) The things kids put their parents through!
