I need serious help here from my creative friends. These “dots” just are not working out as nicely as I anticipated. *sigh* The biggest problem with these right now I think is the size. I really was expecting larger dots. I told you I was putting them up with sticky-tac and that’s good because I’ve already moved them around. At first I was going to try them on two walls. Here are the photos. Keep in mind that because they aren’t actually “stuck” up there yet some of them are kinda curled. It looks even worse on these photos than in real life. I have no idea what I’m going to do!!
But it looked like a room with a bad case of chicken pox or something. They just aren’t big enough to cover that much space. So I took them all and put them on this one wall. Now there’s a big blank spot because that’s where the dresser and a Giraffe poster is going to go. Still, they just don’t look good to me.
So I’m begging for any suggestions or insight some of you may have on this, and in the mean time I’m going to leave a negative feedback on Amazon for these, because it’s really quite pathetic in my way of thinking!!

You could form pretty swirly patterns with them, almost like butterfly trails, like how people draw a butterfly’s movements through the air anyway. That would give you a way to use up all the itty bitty ones. Swirls would let you use little ones in beginning and then gradually move to larger dots on the ‘tails’ of the swirls.
Also, you could get a chalk pen (oh yeah, craft stores or walmart carry those babies now!) and write on the larger ones. Spell out baby’s name or put up a quote. Or a white or pink erasable marker would do the same. You could change whatever it says as often as you like without damaging the decals.
Form polkadot flowers with stems and petals coming up from the floor.
A nice but fun simple thing would be using the dots to form a wavy border following the line where the wall meets the ceiling. Or, place a wavy line of dots all around the room at chair rail height. The different sizes should make it really cool looking! Ooh, so many options! You could use them to ‘frame’ different things in the room. Like add a grouping at every corner of the room. A scattering of dots on the two walls that make a corner and do that in every corner and then some framing the wall plaque (I think that’s what you said you have) just at it’s corners. In the ‘framing’ option, you could use some large dots ones just over the crib with baby’s first name or something like “LOVE”, “PRECIOUS”, “LI’L DARLIN” or some other sweet word(s).
Just a few ideas. I really hope you find something you love!
Painting dots might be better.
Thanks Kilika!! I knew I could count on you for some great suggestions. I thought of the swirls, kinda, but just not sure with as few dots and as much wall how it will look, but I’m going to give it a whirl today and see what happens.
No problem, always fun thinking up options, it’s the doing that’s the hard part! lol, oh and my last suggestion, I totally forgot to mention, I meant writing on the large dots to make the words, not actually spelling them out in dots. I just re-read it and thought, uh oh, that sounds weird.
