Time to time

I have written several blog posts that I will be scheduling to post at intervals on here so that you all know that I’m still alive. Though I guess technically you won’t REALLY know that since they are scheduled…. but you know what I mean. 😉 A couple of the posts I had prepared had pictures too, but my slippery mind forgot to transfer the pics from my desktop to my laptop, hence I can’t post them now. 🙁 Sad for you, cause they are really cute too! 😉 I’ll have to wait till next weekend to get to those, so be patient. I have been missing my cyber-connection, but doing surprisingly well without it. Still, feel free to e-mail me and keep me updated with your lives since I can’t catch up with you on fb right now. We can usually download e-mail a couple of times a week to check that stuff. I have to say I was disappointed this week when all that showed up for me was a TON of junk and not any personal e-mail. So consider that a whine for some real e-mails. And yes, I will write back though there may be a slight delay. Brings back the ol’ pen-pal days of yor. LOL!! We’re doing well, enjoying our summer, and haven’t even had to connect the swamp cooler yet!! That’s pretty amazing. The lads are reveling in the day light that lets them roll in the dirt and smoosh stinkbugs to their heart’s content. 😉 Take care and enjoy your warm weather too! Ta... read more

Debut

Im using our iPad and one finger typing with an I.v. Lock in my good hand, so this won’t be a long post! I just wanted to let you all know that there is a new lil angel in our family! Marcella Rose decided that the first day of Autumn was a great time to show up! I’ll post later all the grisly details that the other mommies are interested in, but for now she weighs 8 lbs even and is 19 1/2 inches long. She is practically bald! The most beautiful little girl baby ever!! Daddy and mommy are smitten and will post pictures... read more

Intermission

Due to an unfortunate event involving a chef’s knife and my pinkie (poor thing didn’t stand a chance) I will be taking a break from my story for a day or two…or three. Hopefully you will not have lost all interest by then. Im a pretty lousy one hand typer so I’ll just have to wait. *sigh* Remind me to send a memo to my reflexes that it is a VERY BAD idea to try to catch a falling knife!!! At least some of the watermellon was chopped before the tragedy, so I’m off to console myself with it. Later, Friends, but hopefully not too much... read more

Mr. Independent

This weekend was a break through for my little Myles. We’ve had a hard time with him and his “stranger danger” anxiety the past 6 months. We tried several times to get him to go with Qade to children’s church with more or less success. Usually less. I don’t think he ever made it through a whole service without a hysterical meltdown. The pastor’s wife is very good and worked with Qade a lot when we were first taking him there, but even she couldn’t get Myles calmed down. Sunday though sang a different tune this time around! I rushed in with Qade to go potty as soon as we got to church and Stu got Myles out of the car. While he was unbuckling him and walking in, he was really talking up Sunday School to Myles and asking him if he would like to go with Qade. Myles answered with his always enthusiastic “Uh-Huh!” and that was that! I came out of the bathroom with Qade and Daddy said, “Follow Qade.” and to my utter amazement he walked right into the Sunday School room and sat at the table with Qade and the other kids!! I told the workers that I wasn’t sure how long he would last and to get us if they needed to. Imagine my surprise when I never once heard a shriek or scream come from that room the whole service! Not only that, but the ladies told Stuart that he had been just great the whole time when we picked them up!! Awwww!! It’s a victory, but bittersweet of course. Even though I want to be able to sit through services with Stuart, it was still a sweet thing to want to be wanted by my lil guy and get to comfort and hold him. He has really started strutting his independence though. To the point where he now believes it’s unnecessary to hold my hand in parking lots and such. He likes to march on ahead swinging his arms all around. That gets nipped right away though, because parking lots and roads are NOT a place for independent thinking little 20 month olds! Still it’s obvious that he considers himself a big boy and is happy to try his best to keep up with the other kids around camp. Stu and I were talking this weekend about how big he seems, and how he’s not our baby any more. 🙁 Happens... read more

P.S.

I forgot to mention the “closer” for our day yesterday. 🙂 Qade was on an errand to get a diaper from his room after bath time. He did come back with the diaper, but also a very concerned look on his face and a confession, “Pee-pee on the floor.” Sure enough there was a little sprinkle and a puddle just in front of his changing table. 🙂 Fortunately for ME he was communicating this to Dad which left me off the hook! Ha! I’ve been contemplating making him go bottomless for a few days when we begin potty training again, but don’t know if I have the stamina for it! 🙂 We’ll... read more
