Birthday Session (pt2)

Life does not slow down for blogging I’ve found. But better late than never! Here are some more shots of the twins cake smash birthday session. Enjoy! I’m so happy God gave me one blue-eyed blondie in the bunch! 🙂 Not sure how she got all those genetics, but it keeps things fun! This little mini-me is a favorite of mine too! 🙂 When the cake came out Claire promptly sat on hers before she realized it was edible. Gabby had no misconceptions about what they were for. 😉 Yum! Wait, yours looks tastier! Oh frosting!! Yep, frosting! Sugar is starting to kick in. Lil goob! Stu actually coached her on how to do this! Hilarious! Contemplating… Love this one! Love this one too!! And that’s it for birthday pics this time around! 🙂 Hopefully next year I’ll get them done closer to the actual birthday. 😉 No promises though! Coming up I plan to post about our trip to Disney with lots of photos to make you want to go too!!... read more

Twin’s Birthday Session (pt.1)

It’s only taken me 3 months to get around to taking the twins birthday photos (oy!) and it took me 2 days to set up the “stuff” but it only took me about half and hour to get the shots. 😉 Of course this is only Part One. I decided early on I was going to try, by myself, to get individual shots of them, and then I would attempt to get a together shot. But there was NO WAY that cake OR bubbles were going to make an appearance today without back up! So I’m saving those parts of the session till Stu can be there to help corral slimy babies. 🙂 Anyway, even though I spent more time chasing them down and trying to bribe them with graham cracker bunnies and cheerios than actually snapping photos, I kinda like what I got. I have almost no shots of Claire without her hand in front of her face… oh well, it’s still cute! Quintessential Gabby! Love those curls! And these ones! Quintessential Claire. She isn’t sure about things… She’s got this one thing covered. I’m not sure what was going on with this face, but I like it! 😉 Stay tuned for part 2. In a day or so… maybe.... read more

First Day of School

We survived!!! The first day of school with all of it’s anxiety and stress is past and we’ve even done the second day. Short honeymoon as today I heard much more “school is boring” kind of whining than I wanted to… oh well. We started school ON Labor Day because that way Daddy could be home and participate as well. Or just be around to troubleshoot the electronics or take over if I had a mental breakdown. 😉 We had a pancake breakfast which was the extent of my “celebration” preparations. I know people who make a huge big deal out of it with special gifts and decorations and all. And while I would like to be that mom, just getting the books on the shelf and the room partially cleared was as far as I could make it this year. Maybe by the time they’re in high school I’ll have it down a bit better. 😉 After breakfast we went outside to take our first day of school pictures. I forwent the cool printables that are somewhere in the depths of my computer hard drive and just opted for a sharpie on paper. The kids didn’t mind the “homemade” signs. Claire, who’s been running a fever for a couple days was inside screaming at the top of her lungs while we were outside, and continued to scream while I tried to get the videos started for the kids. Oy!! Ella is watching the Bible lesson with one of the boys alternating between the two on different days. She did this last year and really seemed to enjoy it. This year she is doing her best to follow all of the teacher’s directions for when to sit and stand and so on! It’s cute! I finally realized that no one was going to learn a blessed thing with the twins standing at the baby gated door hollering to be part of the action so I moved them to their room for “room time.” Amazingly it went well!! They stopped wailing right away and enjoyed being in a “new” space. Eventually it got super quiet and I peeked in the door to see this… Oh well… it may have seemed like we lived a week and a half in 3/4’s of a day, but we made it! Today the lads are taking issues with the schedule. Especially the part where they don’t get the iPad time till late afternoon (after... read more

Baby Cereal, Mmm Good!

Well I’ve been putting off introducing the gals to cereal. I keep thinking that I have “extra” time for things since they were preemies and all. They however, don’t seem to realize or remember that they should be “behind” and so I finally caved in and got them some organic cereal before they drink us out of house and home with their formula! 🙂 Gabby has taken to it the best! She slurps it down and yes makes faces, but at least she’s swallowing most of it. Claire has the whole out-in thing going on with hers, but she still ends up swallowing some at least. 🙂 This is the hardest stage of feeding babies, I think. It’s always a guessing game of how much, how often, fitting food feedings in between bottle feedings, and fitting them in between feeding EVERYONE else as well. I find it the most stressful transition as far as feeding babies goes. Since this is 4&5 for me you’d think I’d remember better how it worked before, but surprisingly I just don’t. I do remember it being the difficult transition though. So there ya have it. Right now I’m offering the gals cereal before their last bottle in the evening, and today I started giving them some before their morning nap as well. We’ll see how that goes. I’m not going to dive in to fruit and veg purees any time real soon. Lets get the cereal thing going down well first. 🙂 Eww, Mom! Seriously? Ha ha! Oh and a funny story about baby cereal: I’ve never been one of those mommies who will taste test baby food in any way. I just put it in and let them deal with the taste/texture all on their own. 😉 However, the other night when I first made up some cereal, the older three kids were very intrigued by it even asking how it tasted. So I let them, if they wanted, get a spoon and try some. Ella went first, and she didn’t seem too phased by it, which gave Myles courage to try it. He got a little on his spoon and took a bite. The next thing that happened was he GAGGED! Like big time gag! I was too busy laughing to ask him not to puke on the floor! Bad mom! Ha ha!! He didn’t though, so that was good! However, his reaction sealed the deal for Qade and he would... read more

Justa buncha cuteness!

That’s pretty much all I can do for you today. Leave you with some sweeties to brighten this middle of the week! On the play mat. These girls are REALLY practicing rolling over. Hi mom! Trying to get them used to sleeping in a “sack” rather than have to be swaddled. Gabby in particular is not going for it so much. 🙂 BIG yawn! It’s the hands flailing around thing that bothers her. 🙂 CLaire just likes to stare at her hands as if they were dismembered things! This was the look I was “blessed” with when I woke her up for a feeding one day. Ha! Dunno where she gets THAT! This was Ella’s idea of an acceptable October evening outdoors outfit. Uh-huh. What happens when I take pics of the lads. And this.. Mommy and Claire Love this grinner! And that’ll about do it for now. 🙂 Happy... read more
