Silhouette

The theme for the iheartfaces contest this week is Silhouette. I enjoy taking these kinds of pictures and am often looking for good silhouette opportunities. This photo is one that I took this summer when we were picnicking at Big Lake. Real inventive name for that place, huh? :-) The boys had never experienced a lake like this before and were thrilled with throwing rocks in it. I was goofing off with my aperture trying to capture a good sun flair and got this shot in. It has become my all time favorite silhouette photo. Probably because of the 3 special people I see in it. :-) Anyway, I thought it was a good shot to enter this week’s contest with. You can visit ihearfaces.com or click the button on the bottom to see more of the entries as well.

Today as I was attempting to make some sense out of the mess that is Ella’s room (good thing she doesn’t need to use it yet!), I discovered an adorable little shirt that her Auntie Tiff had given her that she will soon be too big for, oops! So I decided then and there that we had to have a kids shoot and get a picture of her in her “little sister” shirt. Here are some of the results. And believe me when I tell you I had to go through a LOT of shots to get these. Ha ha ha!! Two squirmy big brothers do not an easy photo shoot make, but we had fun!

This n’ That

I have a sink (actually 2) full of dishes that need to be placed in the dishwasher, but I really don’t want to do it! I have a laundry basket (and dryer) full of clothes that need to be folded and put away, but I don’t want to do that either. :-) There are lad’s toys scattered all over the floor that really need to be put away (especially as I keep stepping on them!) but I do not want to do that. So what I’ve chosen to do is sit at the computer and since nothing is happening in Facebook land, bore you with all the mundaneness of my life. :-D How’s that for fun?

I’ve been reading a book that is supposed to help you save hundreds on your grocery/food bills. (more…)

Three Sleeping Babes

So I won’t torture you to “guess” which kid is which this time. ;-) Mostly because it’s pretty obvious, so where’s the fun in that? Ha ha! I want to post pics of the 3 amigos from time to time at around the same age, so you can see just how much they do or don’t look alike. :-) I found a sweet picture of Qade sleeping so decided to post sleeping pictures this time. Next time I’ll post awake pics, promise!!

Seven Weeks

Seven weeks! 49 Days! That’s how long our littlest love has been with us. Already our family has changed so much! The dynamics are still shifting around, but starting to settle. The lads adore their tiny sister, and even get thrilled if they see a picture of her on the computer. They are so helpful by bringing me diapers, outfits, and toting off used diapers to the trash, and they simply LOVE to help when it has anything to do with their “baby sister.”

They are among us!

Did any of you ever look at your precious little newborn and think, “This child is not of this world!” Ya know, like ET-not-of-this-world kind of thing.

You haven’t???

Oh…

Little Annie

The little gal in this week’s “fix-it” picture reminded me of the Bobby Darin song about “Little Annie” making artificial flowers. Don’t know why, that’s just what came to mind. :-) She’s a cutie for sure!!

Three in three

I have now officially graduated to the “are they crazy??” group of parents. ;-) We were close with having Qade and Myles only 17 months apart. But now we have three kids in three years, and that makes us certifiably crazy in the eyes of the general population. You all know what I’m talking about, because at one point or another we have ALL been part of that “kidless” population that looks on the family with a bunch of kids in tow or several close together and think, “Those people are crazy!” And now I that I’m on the “crazy” side of it all I have to say is, Yep, we’re crazy, but we love it!

Pandemonium

Did you know that Milton “invented” that word?? I think maybe I’ll write an epic work of literature and invent some words of my own. :-) In my foggy, sleep-deprived, mommy brain state I could come up with some doozies, I’m sure! ;-)

I’ve had some rough nights in baby-land recently, and that makes for an all over not so fun day as the aftermath. The boys have been needy and clingy, and Myles has a cold. The whiney chair has been pretty busy, but I have to say it’s becoming very effective for at least one of the little whiners! I feel like I’m barely keeping afloat on the sea of ever churning life things… ya know, laundry, dishes, cooking, cleaning (what’s that again?) and kid stuff!!

BUT…

We seem to be SOOOO close to actually having a routine down that I can almost taste it!!

Ella is 6 weeks old now. Awwww… how did that happen?? And I feel like her sleep patterns, minus the above mentioned, are starting to “level” out. She takes 2 BIG naps a day, and one “cat nap” in the evening before bedtime. Now if we can get the night time thing down to some kind of “regular” then I think we’ll be where we need to be for things to normalize a bit better. Right now, I can’t count on what the nights are going to be like. Like I said though, it’s close… I can feel it!! I’m ready for it. :-) So here’s hoping in the next week, or two at the most (PLEASE!!), we’ll have a more normalized structure that I can actually function in.

That’s the key. Mommy just isn’t working well when the sleep tank is empty. Yesterday was a bad’un for sure! I did get a lot done in the morning surprisingly because every time I sat down I felt like I’d konk out in seconds. That doesn’t work well when you have 2 little lads roaming around. Especially when they get such delight out of “experimenting” with things they shouldn’t be messin’ with! I look forward to the day, (please tell me there will be one) when I can tell them to leave something be and trust that they will do it.

Anyway, so that’s where I’ve been… what I’ve been… how I’ve been… or something. :-)

Hope your week is delightful!
