Hey Friends! I could use your creative input! We are renaming our camp now that we have permanent property and the “wheels” part doesn’t work too well for that. So if any of you have any left over fantastic campy name ideas from bygone years or even just today, please head over to http://bit.ly/18y5zv and give us some suggestions. It will be muchly appreciated! Ta ta

Here It Is!
02.27
The moment we’ve all been waiting for! Rachel’s new blog theme! Ha! Okay, so you probably weren’t all waiting for it, but now that it’s here, don’tcha love it?
Is it SO me or what? Anyway, my fabulous man helped me get it together, well he basically did it, and I think it looks good. I’m going to do some “picture of the week” posts. (inspiration from my hubby) Hopefully that will keep me thinking creatively about photography. Also I plan on putting up random quotes about coffee too.
Love it! Well, you all have a splendiferous weekend, as I plan to. Ta!
Wackyness

So I changed my theme and the smileys went wacky! Sorry about that, hope you can get over the winks and smiles in random places. Ha! Stu will be helping me update my blog with the latest version soon, and then I shall have the perfect theme. I won’t tell you what it’ll be, but you could probably guess if you took a minute to think about it. Ta ta friends!
Sweet Potato Fan!
02.26
So today I became a “fan” of Sweet Potatoes on Facebook.
Okay, you could say I’m slightly obsessed, but I just find them so delicious, and the fact that they’re actually good for you is a bonus… kind of like grapefruit.
By the way did you know that grapefruit gets it’s name because they grow in clusters looking like giant grapes? Well, now you do!
So my walk a million miles plan isn’t going over so well because the wind has been more than blustering here lately. That’s the biggest downer about springy weather in these parts. The wind blows like mad in March/April. It’s depressing because as soon as it’s starting to get warm enough to really enjoy being outside the wind drives you in. If it was just sorta blowy I could handle it, but this is a driving wind that picks up the sand from the road and blasts everything with it! Ya wanna get a weathered wood look? Just bring it out here and we’ll let the wind take care of it for you.
Oh well. Stu and I did our jumping program last night, and I’m pretty sure it just about killed me. Ha! I’m so terribly out of shape, but Stu assures me that if I don’t die (and he’s certain that I won’t) then I will get in great shape doing this.
Guess I should give it a go since I have to stay inside anyway. *sigh*
So yesterday I had mommy’s “day off.” It was much needed and in the nick of time, as I felt like I was beginning to go batty. (no comments please!) Stu stayed home with the lads and I went to Gallup for some time alone. Gallup isn’t my favorite place by any means, but when you need to get away just about anywhere will do. I had lunch at Wendy’s, a favorite place, with Jane Austin.
I picked up some SWEET POTATOES and other stuffs, and got to visit Stu’s Grandmother. The home she is in was doing a Mardi-Gras type parade so all the residents were all dressed up. It was quite the sight! Masona was dressed as a Raggedy Anne type doll, too cute! I was glad I got to see her that way!
So sleep is still a work in progress, but Myles did sleep ALL night before my day off, and that helped a LOT! Last night wasn’t as good, but still okay. I’m giving him cereal 2x’s a day to see if that helps him out. He seems to love the stuff. It’s so cute though because as soon as I give him a bite, he pops in his thumb and vigorously sucks for a few seconds before opening up for the next bite. Too funny!
Well, enjoy your week and hope that your days are full of sweet things, especially sweet potatoes!
Coffee Quote of the Week
02.22
The powers of a man’s mind are directly proportioned to the quantity of coffee he drinks- Sir James Mackintosh (1765-1832)
Dizzy
02.22
That’s me lately. I believe it has something to do with allergies and the like. It happens once or twice a year, but it’s never very pleasant. This time around it’s been hanging on for several days. Blah! I don’t like feeling dizzy and off balanced, but it also sometimes makes my stomach feel ill too… I’ve always been motion sensitive.
Ah well… if I’d remember to take my clariton every day I’d probably be better off.
So, what’s been going on round here? Well, the usual, LAUNDRY, DISHES, POOP. But other than that not much.
The sleep project hasn’t been working as well as planned. Oh our day time schedule is going along swimmingly well, but at night Myles STILL wakes up between 1-2am, and he’ll talk to himself and lie there fine most of the time, but it can take him up to an hour to go back to sleep. Guess who is also awake listening to his every murmur? That’s right, Mommy! So even if I don’t get up to feed him, I’m still NOT sleeping, so it kind of defeats the purpose. *sigh* I think it might be back to the drawing board for us as far as that goes. Perhaps it’s time to move him out of our room, but I’m not sure Qade is ready for a roommate either. Oh dear!
On a happy side note, Myles’ best friend, Benton, was born on Thursday!!! We have been anxiously awaiting his arrival so we could see what this little man looked like. He is a sweet little doll baby!! So cute! Stu and I agree that he favors his Momma in the face, but it looks as though he’ll have his Daddy’s dark eyes. We can’t wait to meet him this summer!
Yesterday I started jogging. Blah! I have to say that I just do not like to run at all!! But I’ve kind of been ‘stuck’ with my weight loss goals for a couple weeks now, so need to do something to jump start it. I’ve got a “program” in my head for this week that I think will help. Part of that is to take advantage of our 65* weather and take the boys for a walk in the stroller. If I add a solo jog/walk to that as well I’ll be doing 4 miles a day, and I’m sure that will make a difference. Also I have my exercise ball that I’m working my “core” on, AND the elliptical that I have to do at least 15 min a day.
I’ll let you know by Friday if any of it helped. Oh yeah, I almost forgot the jumping program that Stu and I are doing. That’s 3 days this week too. Lots more activity and fewer cinnamon rolls, and I believe I’ll see some good results.
Too Good to Last
02.17
That’s what I was thinking last night.
I had this “gut feeling” that things wouldn’t be going as smoothly with Myles when he was alive, alert, awake, enthusiastic at 10pm when I was trying to feed him that last time. Normally he’s sound asleep and will maybe blink his eyes when I give him the bottle, but not last night. And true to my “instincts” he woke up 4 times between midnight and 3:30 when I figured it was finally okay to feed him. That didn’t last long however, and he was awake again in an hour. Oh well, tonight is a new night with no mistakes in it yet.
I was tired and dragging this morning, but I did manage to get some stuff done today. Mopping, laundry, kid clothes organizing, kitchen counter de-cluttering, utility room straightening, and then Qade helped me to finish putting the last pictures in his baby book.
That was fun! So anyway, I felt like something got done today and the house was spick ‘n span when Stu got home from work, and that’s important to me!
Today I started “room time” with Qade, and he was NOT at all pleased with it. I planned to stay in his room with him, because I knew he wouldn’t be thrilled at first, but even though I was there, as soon as the gate went up he started wailing at the top of his lungs. Eventually he calmed down, of course, but it’s going to take awhile to set the routine, I think. It’s weird though because right now he’s playing in his room by himself just fine, but there’s no gate. Ha ha!
Oh and another strange thing going on with my very close to 2 yr old, is that he has given up milk. I mean, he just won’t drink the stuff any more even if I put “strawberry” flavoring in it. Have any of your munckins done this? I’ve just decided to stop offering it all together and then maybe try it again in a little while. Weird!
Well, I must needs go make some “sky-high” biscuits for our biscuits and gravy dinner. Hope you are all having a swell Tuesday… it is Tuesday right? Toodles.
5am
02.16
That’s what time it was when Myles woke last night.
I was so thrilled!! He’s doing so well, and actually by that time I was READY for him to wake up.
Our other son didn’t do so well though.
Qade went to bed at his usual time, but I heard him talking to himself for awhile after which usually does not happen at bed time. He eventually fell asleep, but at around 2am we heard shreaking over the monitor. I don’t know if he had a bad dream or what happened. My sweet husband got up with him though. I’m so thankful for the man I get to be married to, and partner in parenting with! Stu got him calmed down, but apparently he had several such episodes. Hmmmm…. I wonder what that was all about. Well, every night can’t be a perfect night, I suppose. Still I am encouraged with Myles’ progress! Today is “recovery” day, and boy do I need to recover the house from the weekend! It’s a MESS!! But that’s okay, because we all had a great weekend together, and there’s always Monday for cleaning it up.
Last evening we watched Wall-E again. I think that’s Qade’s favorite movie! He makes all the beeps and whistles of the robots along with their words, it’s hysterical to watch him watching it!
Well, I’ve got laundry that needs folding, more needs washing, and clutter to pick up, so I’m off to the races! Hope you all are having a marvelous Monday!
