Off the bottle

2008
03.07

Qade is now officially off his bottle!  He’s totally on sippys now.  He successfully drank from one with a “plug” as I call a valve, last night.  He has been drinking from a sippy cup for all of his meals and juice, and only taking a bottle at bed time.  Recently though he seemed more interested in playing with the bottle than drinking from it, so I figured he was ready to give it up.  Just one more milestone on the journey to grow up. :-)   Awwwww, it happens way too fast!

Today has been interesting anyway.  Qade’s had the runs, and Sage is moving stuff out pretty well too, so I’ve been changing like a zillion REALLY stinky diapers!  I nearly succumbed to one of Qade’s this morning.  I’ll spare you all of the details and just leave you with one word. EVERYWHERE!;-)  But we had a good day any how.  Lots of playing lost of talking lots of ‘sharing’ toys. :-)   Qade and Sage just snatch the ‘interesting’ toy away from each other.  They haven’t figured out to be upset yet when someone takes something.  It’s pretty funny to watch.  Sage will have “it” and will be waving it all around, then Qade snatches it, he munches it for a bit, then *snatch* it’s back in Sage’s possession.  Funny funny!
Well hope you all have enjoyed Lime Green Thursday!  It’s also my Pappy’s birthday today!  Happy Birthday, Dad!  Love you!!!

Blustery Day

This morning started out very sweet and sunshiny, but now the wind is blowing as if this is it’s last chance!!   I would rather it blew itself away so I could go for a walk, but there’s no way I’m going to fight the gale just for some outside time.  I’m still not “over” this nasty bug, and occasionally find myself hacking up a lung.  I’m sure the wind wouldn’t help that at all.  Anyway, my dad was here this morning just to spoil his grandson. :-)   They have great fun together and I love to watch!  Dad was passing through for a conference in Phoenix, so we got to snitch a little time with him.  Sage is finally sitting up on his own!  Qade thinks it is great!  Sage is still a little topsy and wobbles over onto his belly from time to time, but he’s getting it.  He and Qade will just sit together and “chat.”  It’s so funny!  I feel kind of left out because I don’t understand ‘baby.’  Well, I think I’m going to “cheat” on dinner tonight and just have Marie Calander’s pot pies. :-)   Although I did get a “Simple and Delicious” magazine in the mail today so I’ll be looking for awesome, easy recipes in there for future days.  Hope you all are having a swell week.

Book Drawing again!!

Hey everyone!  Writing Canvas is having another book drawing!  The last book was a marriage book, but this time around is something you can use for you kids, boys especially!  I think that good Christian literature for boys is sadly lacking.  Now that I have a son, I’m already on the look out for books that will help him in his character development, even though he’s still years away from reading. :-)   The book is called   Sentinel – City of Destiny  and there’s a great review of it on the Writing Canvas blog.  You need to check it out!

Miss Potter, sniffles and sunshine!

Wednesday was a rotten day for me health wise.  I didn’t go to church for prayer meeting, but Stu did and he borrowed a movie from our friends called “Miss Potter.”  It’s the story of Beatrix Potter.  She happens to be one of my favorite children’s authors.  Well, I wasn’t in the “mood” to watch a movie, but Stuart was so sure that I’d LOVE it that he convinced me to at least start it.  So we did, and of course, I got so hooked that we had to watch the whole thing!  It was great!  Stuart liked it too except for the sad part.:-(  But anyway, that was fun, and it took my mind off of my troubles and throbbing head for a little bit. (besides Stuart rubbed my head a bunch while we were watching it- hee hee)  Then Thursday was a pretty icky day for me too.  I had a migraine on top of the awful cough and stuffy nose.  However today the sun was shining brightly and it got really warm out!  I had Sage here today or else Qade and I would have been out enjoying it all day.  I felt much better and actually got some stuff done, amazingly enough!  When Stu got home I headed for the hills!  I intended to take my 2 mile walk, but at the top of the first big hill I was already tuckered out, so I didn’t go the whole way.  Still it was warm enough to make me think of spring, and it also made me crave watermelon!!!!  I love watermelon, and now I can hardly wait till it’s actually in season!!   No particular plans for this weekend, but I’m sure it’ll be good anyway.  As long as I keep feelin’ better and better.  Ta ta for now!
